Cook with us in Rome is now offering food tours!

​​Our morning cooking classes have always included a morning stroll through the market, and sometimes that’s our favorite part! So we’ve decided to expand our market tour to include more delicious food tastings in the heart of Rome’s historic center and in Trastevere. Discover hidden food treasures with us.  Gianni, Cesare or one of their friends, will lead two food tours, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Morning Food tour in Center:

​The morning tour will meets at 9:00 AM, and it starts off with a cappuccino and cornetto at a local coffee bar, elbow to elbow with locals. After a jolt of caffeine, you will stroll through Campo di Fiori, Rome’s oldest and most picturesque open-air market, taste simple yet mouthwatering warm pizza bianca in one of Rome’s oldest bakeries, sample local prosciutto and coppa, as well local salty cheeses such as pecorino. For those with a sweet tooth don’t worry: you’ll be able to have some of the best gelato around. You will end your tour in the ancient Jewish Quarter where you will taste a have a glass of wine and try what is arguably Rome’s most famous dish: carciofo alla giudia, an Jewish-style artichoke which is fried whole.
 

During this 3 to 4 hour tour, you will taste:
  • Cappuccino or espresso
  • Cornetto
  • Various tastings in campo di fiori (which will change according to what’s in season)
  • Balsamic tasting
  • Pizza Bianca at TWO different bakeries so you can pick your favorite.
  • Prosciutto, salame, and other cured meats
  • Cheese
  • Gelato
  • carciofo alla giudia (fried artichoke)
  • Wine
  • Water

You will also see some of Rome's great historical sites and hidden gems:
  • Arco degli Acetari
  • Ancient ruins in Largo Argentina

Twilight Trastevere food tour:

​The Trastevere neighborhood has been lived in for 2,000 years, and each century has left its mark. In this walking tour, you will wander around this ancient neighborhood by foot, stopping to visit its beautiful, off the beaten path sites like Santa Maria in Trastevere, but you will also get a chance to taste delicious local foods like pizza bianca, biscotti brutti ma buoni, pizza al taglio. Learn how to order an espresso like a local, visit a old cookie shop, and taste a real gelato. The tour will end in a very local restaurant, where you will be able to savor morscardini fritti (when in season) with a glass of white wine.

During this 3 to 4 hour tour, you will taste:

  • Fried Calamari

This tour will also include some of Rome's beautiful sites, many of them off the beaten path:
